A River Run Wild

Well really more of a stream but still it is running harder and faster than I have ever seen it. Local businesses and houses have taken to stacking sandbags along the banks – all of this because of our unusual amount of rain and snow so late in the season combined with our recent heat wave. Police have been patrolling the entrances to all of these hiking areas but Andrew and I must have caught them on a break so we snuck in and snapped some pictures. Which totally don’t do this scene justice – boulders are crashing along downstream because of the sheer force of the water and there are piles of trees that have been torn out by the rushing water, even the bottom of this fence is threatening to be taken away.
