I have always been a sucker for album art and still keep my large collection of compact discs proudly displayed on my office wall despite their obvious archaicness. In fact when I first got into graphic design, I had hoped to exclusively design album art for an indie label of some kind but those dreams were quickly dashed with the advent of the MP3. There is something nostalgic about struggling with cellophane to open up a brand new album then flipping through the album artwork as you sit in your car listening to the first few tracks.
This book was quite a lucky find as this particular version is out of print and I am not so much a fan of the revised cover. I love thumbing through the pages of this book, looking at albums that changed the world and inspired others of the future – there is something about music that is just so powerful and inspiring in all genres.
